Listen on the go!

You can listen to the eye shows here at Eye Talk Radio … but wouldn’t it be nice to listen to this educational content while you are out and about? You could listen and learn while driving your car, talking a walk, or doing chores around the house. There are several ways you can listen mobily:

  • Download the individual mp3 file and sync to your mobile device (pain in the butt)
  • Subscribe to our iTunes podcast on your computer and sync to your phone/ipod
  • Download Apple’s free podcast application and subscribe to our shows!

Here are instructions below on how to do each of these things!

How to subscribe through iTunes on your computer:

You can subscribe to our shows within the iTunes player on your computer. Simply go to the iTunes store and run a search for “Eye Talk Radio” … all our shows will show up and you can decide which to subscribe to.  Then, you have the option of listening to specific shows, or downloading all the shows for offline listening and synching to your mobile device.

How to download directly to your iPhone or other smartphone?

You can download or stream the audio from all our programs directly on your phone … this is great, because you can eliminate the whole “synching hastle.”  To get this to work, you’ll have to download apple’s free “Podcasts” application.  Then, within the application, you can search for our shows, subscribe, download, and listen on the go.  This is also great because you can stream any of the shows without having to download them first.

Podcasting is like streaming talk radio … and there are a million shows out there available for free. Once you get started, I think you’ll be hooked.   Let us know if you have any problems and we might be able to help!

As you can see … I’m still putting this page together. Sorry if it looks a little drab.

Podcasts are a method of listening to audio shows on your phone. It is kind of like subscribing to your favorite talk shows … or listening to satelite radio … except you can do it from your phone or computer.

I’ve been listening to my favorite talk show podcasts since about 2008. Once you try it, I think you’ll be hooked on the concept.

There aren’t that many ophthalmology/optometry podcasts out there yet … hopefully, this website will fill the void and help bring our field into this new media space.

Thanks for subscribing!

I am an ophthalmologist who teaches ophthalmic technicians and PAs and would love to use your eye talk radio, but for some reason I cannot find it on itunes. Is anyione else having this problem? Dr Koumas

Dr. Koumas,
The audio files aren’t up yet … I am literally recording the first episode of Eye Basics 101 this weekend. If you want to know when it goes live (and when the podcast goes live on iTunes) you may want to subscribe to our email mailing list here:

Dr. Root: I have your “ophthobook eye video lectures” on my podcasts. Is it the same as “eye talk radio”, bc when I search “eye talk radio” in itune, I could not find it. 🙁
